MAY 25 – Jiyoung, Korea

Last week, we had a new host.
It was also the very first time for the host to meet WWOOFers, so both were pretty excited.

we only knew that the host has not been farming for a long time. When we got to his farm, we were all fascinated by that huge area,it is19,834.7107 m²

What we are given to do is picking up lettuce, as you see the picture there are two species. The left one is lactuca sativa var. crispa, and the right one is red lettuce(You can see these a lot in korea restaurant, mostly used for wrapping meat)
The difference thing is red lettuce has much softer leaves so that it takes more care when we pick up.

It was really hot, so the host gave us farmer hat. we need to hurry up before the hottest time is coming.

This is not from sophisticated restaurant. Whenever I show this picture, everyone ask me where this restaurant is. It is made by our host. We were kind of washing dishes by eating them all! That is a typical traditional meal to guests.

After lunch, we restart what we
have done. Apart from picking up lettuce, we are weeding until 4p.m

We moved to beongsu’s farm to share what we had done so far, and to talk together.

From now on, we have 1 more host, which is very good news for experiencing different fields.

Join us upcoming 1day WWOOFING. https://wwoofnslowfood.wordpress.com/
